HAPTON Parish Council and the environmental committee have expressed their sadness and frustration at the actions of some of the young people in the village.
Gangs have been riding bicycles across the bowling green, playing football on it and turf is missing from the green.
Councillors have avoided calling the police and hope the children will realise that they are spoiling things for others. However, they are aware of their identities and will report them if criminal damage continues.
TRAFFIC jams continue to plague drivers on the A679 in Hapton. Rush-hour traffic going to the Burnley area cannot use the M65 as there is no entrance. The nearest one is junction 10 at Gannow.
Plans are being drawn up to lobby for an opening on to the M65 at junction 9 which would take the traffic away from Burnley centre.
PADIHAM Councillor Mrs Theresa Arkwright has resigned from the council.
The vacancy will be advertised.
If more than 10 people apply there will have to be an election, if not someone will be co-opted on to the council.
THE Mayor of Padiham, Councillor Granville Lord, is making a nuisance for troublemakers across Padiham in a bid to stamp out unruly behaviour.
He said he believes in the right to live in peace and harmony and will vigorously prosecute people who cause distress to others.
