WORKERS travelling into Blackburn and to the British Aerospace factory at Samlesbury were delayed today after a crash on Whalley Road at the junction of the A59 at Samlesbury.
A saloon car and an HGV collided around 5.45am causing a diesel spill. Part of the road was closed, forcing traffic down Preston New Road and away from the A59.
The Preston-bound lane reopened at 7.10am and the rest of the road at 7.30am when there were lengthy tailbacks back to the M6 slip road.
A spokeswoman for the Swallow Hotel, Preston New Road, said: "It didn't affect our staff as we had already got into work, but we could see the tailbacks outside."
