SIR, READING the Journal, I came across an article headed "Family Evicted"
The closing comment was from the Deputy Chief Executive of Wigan and Leigh Housing, Tony Gerrard: "We are fully committed to addressing anti-social behaviour on our estates."
So he evicts these families off the estates.
These people then apply for houses from private builders who buy houses and renovate them. These people and companies get a regular cheque from the D.H.S.S. They are not interested how these families de-value, and cause upset and frustration to the home owners who have lived in their respective areas for years.
It is about time that the council brought in a scheme that made the landlord's responsible for the behaviour of their tenants. They should be made by law to display a contact number so that people can complain to them about bad and anti-social behaviour.
The council should look after everyone's interests not just getting without their own problems.
Frustrated private home owner.
