OPERA meets jazz in Two's A Crowd, an hilarious new musical comedy in two acts at the Dukes on September 7.
Guaranteed to be a dazzling evening of inspired singing and acting, it stars two renowned performers -international opera star Rosalind Plowright and the charismatic crooner Robert Habermann.
The show is based on a script by John Pohl Hammer and Graeme Davies and the show is directed by John Pohl Hammer, well known actor and director of the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Two's A Crowd develops the comic opportunities that occur when a world class diva finds herself double booked with a popular jazz singer.
Can the two styles be made to work together or will diva temperament triumph over the laid back crooner? Egos clash, one-upmanship prevails and the daggers are (literally) drawn.
The evening is packed with high emotion and comes together with a wonderful selection of popular musical standards plus the delightful music of Graeme Davies.
To see the crooner attempt Don Giovanni or the Prima Donna bump and grind her way through a standard is not to be missed.
