ASTLEY & Tyldesley's two Polish stars ended their brief spell with the local cycle speedway club in style with excellent performances in the Manchester League Grand Prix round at Stockport.
Przemek Binkowski signed off by riding to a superb 16 points maximum score, inflicting the only defeat on England International Terry Norman, of Tameside.
A & T's other Pole, Tomasz Wlodarczyk, won his opening two races and finished with a score of 13 points, to finish joint third on the night with Bury's Ben Scranage and Neil Howarth.
Both Binkowski and Wlodarczyk have declared their intention to return to Astley & Tyldesley for a much longer spell next season. Certainly both riders have been tremendous acquisitions for the club - both on and off the track - and this news is a great filip for the club's 2003 plans.
The Astley & Tyldesley club are continuing their popular Wednesday night training sessions, starting at 7 pm, which are held at the track at the Astley & Tyldesley Miners' Welfare Club, Meanley Road, Gin Pit, Astley. Newcomers are welcome to try their hand at the sport and can hire the club's equipment for just £2 per session.
