A 46-YEAR-OLD mountain biker fell from his cycle as he was riding along coal tips off Plank Lane, Leigh.
Paramedics had to trek across countryside for 15 minutes to reach him after one of his three riding companions rang for help at 5.45pm on Monday.
He had knocked himself unconscious in the fall and was treated at the scene for a possible fractured rib, wrist injuries, neck pain and cuts to his face.
The rider, from Mere Street, Leigh, was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
