POLICE are re-appealing for road accident witnesses after a driver died.
Stanley Thompson, aged 66, of Warrington, was airlifted to Preston Royal Infirmary with internal injuries after his vehicle was in a collision with a lorry at around 10am on Tuesday, August 6 on the A580 East Lancashire Road at Golborne.
As a result of his injuries Mr Thompson died on Sunday, August 18 three days before his 67th birthday.
The road was closed for several hours after the accident and enquiries are still ongoing to establish what happened.
