A SHELTERED accommodation scheme is bringing the outside in to cheer up the lives of residents.
All over 60s are invited to an introductory cream tea afternoon at Elmridge Court, Lowton, on Monday, September 2, with a view to starting a new club.
Estate manager, Anthony Concannon, has invited the community to join the 43 residents for a weekly afternoon of entertainment.
He said: "Some of our residents are frail and can't get out, so I thought we could open the doors so they don't feel isolated.
"Even though we have many facilities on site, including a shop, a hairdresser and care scheme, the club will be good for the residents.
"At the first meeting we will find out what new members would like to do. Their views and ideas will be welcome."
The meeting will take place between 2pm and 3.30pm.
