CULCHETH WI members were welcomed back from holiday with a Punch and Judy show.
They were transported back to childhood days by the speakers' talk and shortened performance of the puppet spectacular.
At a busy meeting, members toasted member Betty and husband Ivor Carter's diamond wedding anniversary and were told that Yorkshire Tea Had planted a tree in SE India on the group's behalf in recognition of their support.
Jill Scattergood has had her photograph, taken at John Bent's Glazebury garden, accepted for the Cheshire WI calendar.
Members will attend a promotional coffee morning on September 20 between 10am and 12noon organised in conjunction with Newchurch WI.
The next meeting is on September 17 in the Parish Hall at 2pm when Mr M L Gitsham will speak on Dunham Massey and its people.
