AN inquest into the death of a Blackburn baby at Liverpool's Alder Hey Hospital has been adjourned for the seventh time while more evidence is gathered.
Jake McGeough was admitted to the children's hospital last summer with what his parents thought was a chest infection.
He died three days later on July 8, sparking a massive investigation involving hospital bosses and Merseyside Police.
Former Blackburn, Hyndburn and Ribble Valley coroner Andre Rebello opened and adjourned the inquest yesterday at Liverpool until October 9.
Jake's parents Keira McGeough, of Leicester Road, and Wayne Knight, have launched legal action against the hospital.
In November solicitors acting on behalf of the hospital were instructed to admit negligence over the death when he was administered with the muscle relaxant drug Vecuronium.
A statement from the solicitors said the injection "was negligent and such negligence caused or substantially contributed to Jake's death."
Two nurses could face criminal charges.
The pair, who are still suspended, have been spoken to by police and a report is still being compiled by the Crown Prosecution Service.
A spokesman for the coroner's office said a full inquest would not be heard until the CPS report was complete.
