MONUMENTAL efforts will be made at Peel Tower next month, in support of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust.
Participants are needed to take part in an abseil down the landmark on Saturday, September 14.
Qualified instructors will be on hand to show novices the ropes, and encourage them to rise to the challenge.
Money from the event will enable the charity to carry out vital tissue tests on donor samples, with the charity's Bury fund-raising branch aiming to raise £5,000.
Secretary of the group, Carol Snowden, said: "Abseiling from Peel Tower is a challenge for anyone and provides a tremendous sense of achievement.
"We hope to raise enough funds to be able to have 100 potential donors tissue-typed and ready to give a leukaemia or bone marrow-related disease sufferer the chance of life."
