FUN-SEEKERS had a ball at the weekend as Larches and Savick housing estates united for an event at Ashton Primary School, Ainsdale Drive, on Saturday (August 24).
From line dancing to bingo, revellers were stuck for choice at the all-day event which included music from bands Saxoholics and Jolly Tinkers, a boxing club display and competition, a mobile zoo, raffle, balloon race, fun fair, disco and a visit from a magician and fire-eater.
Executive member for housing and direct services, Councillor Elaine Abbot, said: "Larches and Savick have a great community spirit and this fun day is just one of many activities organised by local people."
Andy Lee, chairman of Larches and Savick Community Association, added: "We've all pulled together to run the event and make it a great day for everyone involved."
The event was funded by Making Things Happen -- part of the ADPM tenant empowerment grant programme.
