BLACKBURN metal band Missed Her Bliss have beaten 500 other bands from as far away as Toronto to win a place on the fringe at this year's In The City festival.
By taking part at the internationally-recognised music conference in Manchester, the band hope their appearance will lead to bigger things.
Billed as an Urban Glastonbury, In The City always attracts a swarm of record companies looking for the next big thing.
In recent times bands like Oasis, Coldplay and Badly Drawn Boy have all played the event before finding fame.
Band spokesman Matt Richardson said: "We're really excited about being part of such a prestigious event.
Ideally we'd like as many of our fans as possible to come over and support us."
The band will be playing at the special 24 Rockfest night, on Monday, September 16 at the Palace Nightclub in Levenshulme. Fans can get tickets and coach details by calling Matt on 01254 883418.
