PEDAL powered grandma Sue Nangle got a big "push off" on Tuesday to mark the start of her 350-mile cycle ride.
On Tuesday evening, sponsors and friends joined former nursery nurse Sue for a meal to mark the start of her mammoth journey from Bacup to Jersey.
Sue, of Greensnook Lane, Bacup, is raising money for projects helping street children in Romania.
Guest of honour at the evening was Ron Brassey, who lives in Romania for most of the year, overseeing a project for around 50 children in Constanta where he is helping renovate a five-storey block of flats.
Eventually the building will house up to 250 children and provide care, shelter, education and training and give the children a new and better life.
To date, more than £1,500 has been pledged or donated in support of Sue.
It's not too late to contribute.
