BUSINESSMAN Neal Philo has been cycling the highways and byways of the Fylde training for a major fund-raising challenge.
Neal, who lives in Fairhaven, is preparing to take part in the Cork to Kerry Bike Ride cycling over 250 miles in aid of the Anthony Nolan Trust.
The week-long challenge starts on September 4.
Neal, managing director of Comfort shops in Lytham and Southport, has completed the event twice before, so he knows what to expect.
"It is through having the shops that has motivated me to do more to help others," he says.
The Trust operates a register of over 320,000 volunteers willing to donate some of their bone marrow or blood stems cells should their tissue type match that of a patient.
Trust spokesman Paul Montgomery says: "The money raised by the cyclists will provide hope to countless patients waiting for a transplant, many of them children, and really will save lives."
