OFFICERS from Lancashire police are to set off an a mercy mission to Romania.
The six head off to Hunedoara tomorrow in two articulated lorries filled with essentials.
Food, medical and hygiene equipment, and clothing,donated by the people of Lancashire, will be transported.
The bulk of the officers are from Eastern Division and the project has been running for more than a decade.
Last year Lancashire Constabulary officially registered the scheme as a charity,Lancon, whose patrons are new chief constable Paul Stephenson and Ruth Henig, chairman of the Lancashire Police Authority.
PS Peter Sculpher, based at Rawtenstall, is and among the party travelling.
He said the charity was set up to support youngsters who had lost their parents.
