A 19-YEAR-OLD Darwen man has been jailed for three months for his part in the theft of a £1,500 quad bike from a garage.
Ryan Wesley Dean, of Perry Street, pleaded guilty to burglary in the Meadows.
Blackburn magistrates heard that a Mr and Mrs Ashton were woken in the early hours and discovered the garage door open and the quad bike missing.
Mrs Ashton went out in her car searching for the vehicle and saw three men about to load it onto a trailer attached to a 4x4 vehicle. She raised the alarm and the bike was recovered. Richard Prew, defending, said Dean had been in the company of two men who were far more criminally sophisticated.
"He went along for the ride, as it were, and accepts his involvement," he added.
