POLICE are hunting a gang of yobs who attacked door staff outside Burnley nightclub The Chicago Rock Cafe in the early hours of Sunday.
Around 15 men were involved in a melee which broke out in Hammerton Street.
Police said the gang hurled bottles, stones and bricks and even a bin from a nearby kebab shop at the doormen following an argument. A 32-year-old man from Burnley received facial cuts and bruises when hit with a bottle. He was treated at the scene.
One man was later arrested and is currently helping police with their inquiries into the disturbance.
Det Con Dave Groombridge, of Burnley CID, said: "We are investigating an altercation which took place outside the Chicago Rock Cafe at 1.45am on Sunday in which a member of the door staff was injured. We are appealing for witnesses to contact us on 01282 472144."
A spokesman for Chicago Rock said: "At the end of a successful Saturday evening a gang of men in the street bombarded the door of the club with bottles and shouted abuse at staff.
"They had not tried to get in but are known to management and would not have been allowed in had they tried.
"During the altercation the door staff stood their ground and did not let customers leave. The police were called and the incident was dealt with. No customer was injured".
