ANGELS came down from heaven to sample some of the strawberries at a fund-raising garden party.
Members and friends of the Darwen Ladies Circle gathered for the champagne picnic at Ashdale, Darwen, and basked in beautiful sunshine.
And angels from Heaven Scent took time out to make card readings.
All the proceeds from the afternoon, estimated to be in the region of £500, will be donated to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph Magic Eye Scanner Appeal.
The ladies circle also hosted a car boot sale on Sunday outside Frank Barns Skips in Bolton Road, Darwen.
The appeal hopes to raise £200,000 for an endoscopic ultrasound scanner which will benefit the whole of East Lancashire with the quicker diagnosis of stomach and oesophagus cancer.
