STRIKER Pawel Abbott will be staying at Bury for at least a further month after extending his loan spell from Preston North End.
The 20-year-old scored his third goal since moving to Gigg Lane against his hometown club on Friday night when Bury beat York City 2-1 to move into the top-six.
And an even bigger boost for manager Andy Preece has seen Abbott given clearance by North End boss Craig Brown to play in the Worthington Cup.
He is set to face Stoke City in the Shakers first round clash with first division Stoke City at Gigg lane tonight.
And so could 20-year-old midfielder Terry Dunfield, who is on loan from Premiership outfit Manchster City and has been given permission to appear in the competition for Bury by Maine Road manager Kevin Keegan.
Stoke manager Steve Cotterill is frustrated by the absence of striker Chris Greenacre.
The 24-year-old, who arrived at the Britannia Stadium on a Bosman free transfer from Mansfield in July, is yet to play for the Division One newcomers after turning his ankle in a pre-season friendly against West Brom.
