POLICE have renewed an appeal for information about a thief who conned Mellor Brook villagers to obtain cash. The man pretended his G registered white Vauxhall Cavalier had broken down in Branch Road. He obtained cash after asking for money to buy petrol and food before heading off in the direction of the A59 in the supposedly broken down car.
The man, Asian, in his late 50s, wearing brown clothing, jacket pants and a pale shirt, had a distinctive turn in his left eye and claimed to originate from Lancaster. Call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with information.
