BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness today vowed to make Chelsea pay for 10 days of frustration as Rovers go in search of their first home win of the season at Ewood tonight.
Souness and his playing staff have spent the last week and a half stewing over their exasperating defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough.
And they plan to unleash all that pent-up anger on Claudio Ranieri's Blues by bringing their four-game unbeaten run shuddering to a halt.
"When you have a bad result, particularly after playing so well, it leaves you with a feeling of frustration," admitted Souness.
"I certainly felt that after the Middlesbrough game and I think the players would as well because on that day there is absolutely no way we should have lost that game of football but we did.
"So we all came away feeling angry, frustrated and disappointed and we've now got a chance to put that right against Chelsea tonight."
Rovers currently boast an impressive eight-game unbeaten home record of their own which stretches back to January 30.
But, after recent draws against Sunderland and Liverpool, Souness knows it's vital his players start picking up some wins on home soil if they plan to keep up with the Premiership's early pace-setters.
"I think in the two games we have played at home, we've been unlucky not to win both of them," said Souness. "But it's important we start picking up a few wins at home, especially with Europe coming up.
"So it could be another great night of football as it was against Liverpool."
Amazingly, considering the amount of attacking talent both managers have at their dispossal, last season's games between the two sides both finished goalless.
But Souness is expecting a different kind of contest tonight and he insists his side must be on their mettle, particularly if Chelsea produce the type of performance they displayed recently against Manchester United.
"We are expecting to face a similar side to the one which played so well against United a couple of weeks ago so it won't be an easy game -- but then nothing is easy at this level," said Souness.
"There was very little between the two teams last season.
"In the first game down there, we tried to shut up shop and managed to do that.
"Then in the second game at Ewood we went for them because we felt they might have had one eye on the FA Cup.
"But that wasn't the case, they were very professional that night, they matched us challenge for challenge and I was very impressed with them."
With Damien Duff out injured, Souness has something of a dilemma as to who to bring in in midfield.
He has the option of bringing back Keith Gillespie, who recently completed a three-game ban, with David Thompson switching to the left.
Or Tugay could be recalled in the centre of midfield with David Dunn asked to do a job out wide.
