STANLEY aim to rewrite a their record books again tonight when Barrow are the visitors to the Crown Ground.
Their seven consecutive wins which has seen them top the UniBond Premier Division with a seven point gap which is the best start since the club reformed in the late 1960s following their resignation from the Football League in 1962.
And the crowd of 1,032 for the Vauxhall Motors game last Wednesday was their highest for a home midweek league match since those years.
Now the Reds aim to smash both those again aiming for an eighth win and a bumper crowd with unbeaten Barrow set to bring around 400 fans tonight.
"Accrington is steeped in footballing history and it would be great if more fans would come and watch us tonight," said boss John Coleman who is hoping to lead his side into the Nationwide Conference this season.
Chairman Eric Whalley has a plan to get Stanley back into the Football League in his lifetime and is hopeful this is their season.
"We have just got to keep this up for the next 37 games!" he said. "We are going in the right direction.
"It is the best team since I have been here. I think it is the best Accrington Stanley side we have had in non-League football although some might disagree.
"I am optimistic and even if we have a blip now we should still be up there."
Kick off is 7.45pm and it is just £1 for children Under 12.
