THE Lancaster City Council is intending to issue 6,000 homes with wheeled bins and boxes for recycling waste.
This is an excellent idea.
The trouble is, the council still persist in cutting grass on the estates only to leave it to rot or blow everywhere.
This is not only an eyesore but can be dangerous underfoot, especially for the old or infirm.
Would it not be more environmentally friendly if it was turned into compost or animal food.
It may even be commercially viable.
If residents tipped their grass cuttings into the street they would be in breach of the law.
