IT'S been many years since Leigh staged a major carnival.
But all that is about to change with plans to host a big carnival and canal rally next year.
The Leigh Carnival Committee chaired by Terry Middlehurst of Bents Electricals, aims to re-instate the carnival as an annual event in the town attracting fun seekers from throughout the north west.
Although planning is still in the early stages it is expected that a three-day event will be held next year from July 25 - July 27.
The carnival committee now wants assistance and support from individuals and organisations wanting to get involved in the event. To obtain more information on this or would like to pledge your support call Terry on 01942 605272.
