THE old war heroes of the struggling Leigh branch of the British Legion have asked me once again to appeal for new members through my column "because more people will read it". Flattery will get you everywhere.
Come on all you ex-servicemen and women, give the association a boost, and help to help yourselves and the ex-servicemen of the future who may need assistance. Get along and join at the next meeting on the first Tuesday of October at Leigh Conservative Club, Railway Road. I'm assured everyone who turns up will be made very welcome.
