LEIGH Athletic had a convincing 5-2 Manchester League win over Monton Amateurs.
z Neil Clayton put Leigh on the right track with a clinical finish in the opening minutes. Monton equalised but Leigh went on to dominate but could not find the target again until the stroke of half time when Richard Wilson netted from outside the box.
Second half strikes from Neil Keegan and Gordon Walker settled the outcome. Poor marki9ng at a corner gave Monton a second goal but Steve Bevan had the last word with a simple finish.
Latics seconds beat Monton seconds with goals from Stuart Gaskell (2), Chris Wilcox and Tony Lewis.
The third and fourth teams continued their encouraging starts in the Warrington League with 4-0 and 6-3 wins respectively.
