WHY does the Lancashire Evening Telegraph not go straight to Councillor Maureen Bateson before it prints any article regarding asylum seekers, as she appears to be the only person who knows the truth?
The advantage in this would be two-fold. Firstly, the LET could be secure in the knowledge that what they printed had her seal of approval.
Secondly, and most importantly, the long-suffering public would be spared the ordeal of reading her irritating letters 'putting us all straight.'
