NINE people, including four children, escaped serious injury after an accident on the M66 motorway in Bury.
Three cars were involved in the collision at 11.30am on Sunday (Sept 8) and the southbound carriageway near junction 3 was blocked for just over an hour after ambulances ferried the occupants to Fairfield General Hospital for treatment to minor cuts and bruising.
Firefighters from Bury and Whitefield were called to assist police at the accident scene but none of the injured required to be cut free from the wreckage.
The casualties, including two young girls and two boys, were later discharged from hospital.
The cause of the accident is not yet known.
