PRESTON ended their season on a high note passing Leyland Motors' target of 192 with three wickets and an over to spare.
Leyland could only hold on for a draw against St Annes after chasing a modest 118 in a rain affected game. Duncan Whalley made 25 and Joe Davies 24 but although Stephen Twist took 5 for 38 the Fox Lane club held on for the draw at 106-8. The results mean Preston finished in a respectable mid-table position in the Bay Northern Premier League. Motors ended up propping up the table finishing bottom and while Leyland finshed third from bottom.
Both Motors and Preston will retain their professionals for next season but Leyland are releasing Pieter Koortzen.
