PRESTON'S Tom Warwick played a key role in the Great Britain team's victory in the European zone championships for Pony Baseball (for ages 13 to 15 year olds).
The victory in Prague last week qualifies Great Britain for a spot in Pony's Colt World Series next summer in Indiana, USA.
The squad rolled through the competition earning a 5-0 record.
Warwick, who also plays for Great Britain's Cadet (14- to 16-year-old) National Team, stood out in a number of the team's victories.
Most notably, he shined at bat in a game against Tempo Praha of the Czech Republic.
The Great Britain team won that game 19-0.
Assistant coach Tom Gillespie said."The coaching staff had two aims: to win the tournament and gain international experience for the future. They came home with smiles on their faces. Mission accomplished!"
