BURY'S Village Hotel and Leisure Club has welcomed aboard Janice Broadbent as the new manager of their informal and friendly cafe bar, Cafe Copra.
Janice (42), who lives locally, is used to the pressures of the restaurant business, having previously worked in a British restaurant out in San Francisco before returning to the UK and changing career to work for Airtours.
Getting back into her chosen profession was down to a stroke of good luck. Janice noticed the position of manager was vacant after visiting the Village Hotel's Leisure Club where she and her husband have been members since it opened a year ago.
Janice said: "Being members of the leisure club, we often used to call into Cafe Copra for a light meal and a drink after working out or swimming.
"I remember thinking that it would be a lovely place to work as the atmosphere is so relaxed and the staff are really nice."
