BLACKPOOL Tower is a top-rated tourist hotspot, says the English Tourism Council.
And together with the Tower Circus, the resort landmark has been awarded the 'Quality Assured Visitor Attraction' accreditation.
The credit rating followed an unannounced visit by an industry expert, who tested and experienced all aspects of the attraction, including the ballroom, circus, Undersea World, Tower Top and Jungle Jim's as well as the catering, retail and toilet facilities.
Martin Blore, executive general manager of Blackpool Tower and Circus said: "I am thrilled that we have been awarded this accreditation. It endorses the effort we have all made as a team to deliver a visitor experience of the highest quality, whilst at the same time offering what I believe is the best value day out in the country."
The award was presented to Martin Blore by the chairman of the North West Tourist Board Anthony Goldstone.
