POLICE are investigating the death of an infant shortly after her birth at Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn.
An inquest has been opened into the death of Chloe Adamson whose parents live in Roundhill View, Rising Bridge.
She was born at Queen's Park Hospital on September 3 but shortly afterwards transferred to the neo-natal intensive care unit.
Her condition deteriorated and she subsequently died.
A post-mortem examination has been carried out and the coroner, Michael Singleton, is awaiting a medical cause of death.
Adjourning the inquest until November 27 Mr Singleton said he understood the police were continuing to investigate Chloe's death.
A police spokesman said today they did not want to comment further until they had spoken to Mr Singleton.
