RAMSBOTTOM United travel to Witton Albion tomorrow hoping to spring a surprise and cash in on a big money FA Cup run.

With just one win from five games in the league so far this season, the signs aren't good for the Rams as they prepare for what is expected to be a tough game at Wincham Park.

With manager Mike Kelly laid low by a flu bug and back-to-back defeats atMossley last Saturday and at home to Fleetwood Freeport on Tuesday night, it hasn't been the best of weeks for the Rams so far.

The smart money will be on UniBond Division One side Witton tomorrow, but Rams' assistant manager Malcolm Holt insisted: "Most people will have usdown as just going along to make up the numbers, but I can assure you wewill give a good account of ourselves."

Ramsbottom have signed centre half Ged Walsh from neighbours Rossendale United and he went straight into the side that lost 2-0 to Fleetwood Freeport on Tuesday night.

Walsh won't be available for the FA Cup tie, but Holt said: "I didn't get the call about Mike Kelly being unwell until the afternoon of the game against Fleetwood, which meant I had to go

straight from work to the ground and get the side organised.

"I knew we had signed Ged Walsh, so he went straight in and I upset a few people. Danny Goodall was left out and Darren Blore wasn't in the starting line-up, but Warren Brierley came back in.

"We have been lacking height at the back, but now we have signed Ged we hope we are on the way to solving that."
