COURT usher Peter Evans has "escaped" to sunnier climes after retiring from his duties at Blackburn magistrates court.
Peter and his wife Pam have purchased an apartment in Spain and will split their time between their home in Lancashire and the new residence.
Peter, who has worked at the Blackburn court for seven years enjoyed a farewell meal with past and present colleagues when he was presented with vouchers for over £100.
Chief usher Michael Shaw paid tribute to Peter's conscientious approach to work and his even handed dealings with both professional court users and clients. Several solicitor's firms made special presentations to mark Peter's retirement.
