I AGREE with Tina Nightingale (LET, August 30), the law on air rifles should be changed. They are downright dangerous.
We had a sad, similar experience earlier this year regarding my daughter's cat. She lives in Hoghton and found her cat lying in her own garden with a badly damaged eye, which had to be remove. The vet also found the pellet lodged in its eye was shot at close range!
Her cat suffered and cost my daughter more than £100 in vet's bills and she now thinks about the safety of her children. It could be a child's eye next -- or a life.
