REGARDING your report 'Brockhall plans run into trouble' (LET, September 4), developer Gerald Hitman's remarks display his attitude to the planning system better than any caricature I could manage.
Effectively, he is saying that if he does not get permission to build just what he wants, Brockhall will get something far more objectionable, like a drug rehabilitation unit or a bail hostel.
For the record, the parish council has indicated its support for the separate projects of more accessible open space and a community hall.
GRAHAM SOWTER (Vice-Chairman, Billington and Langho Parish Council), Whalley Old Road, Langho.
