TONY Blair does not want to get involved with the care of the elderly in Lancashire, yet off he runs to President Bush for guidance over Iraq.
As he may be asking the youth of today to go and fight, I wonder what the youth of yesteryear are thinking, as the promises made to them when they went off to fight for their country were:
Your country needs you.
You will return to a land that will be fit for heroes.
A country that will look after you from cradle to grave.
Now Mr Blair and his ministers do not want to honour those promises to the older generation as they sit worrying themselves to death over where their future home will be.
Come on, Mr Blair, get off the fence. After years of poor financial control by Lancashire County Council cabinet members, please do not let them make those aged people suffer for the county's mismanagement.
BETTY SPENCER, Sycamore Close, Rishton.
