REGARDING Mr Ian Finch, of Puccino's coffee house facing ruination if Blackburn with Darwen Council closes down his establishment because he is operating in an A1 outlet instead of A3. How petty can one get?
This shopping area is boring enough with all the building societies and a new one having just been opened. I would rather partake of food in Mr Finch's coffee house than indulge myself with the junk food served in this area.
At times, I feel sickened by the smell of oily food cooking.
Coun Frank Connor, chairman of the planning committee, states the council can't allow people to ride roughshod over it by opening up as and when they please.
But can he honestly say that all the kitchens, porches, bedroom and garage extensions that are being built in Blackburn have had planning permission? I think not.
So, come on, give Mr Finch a break. He is only trying to make a decent living and not sitting on his backside, collecting handouts like a lot of people are doing in this town.
I am thoroughly disgusted with the council.
H HAMER (Mrs), Lowther Place, Blackburn.
