BLACKBURN boss Graeme Souness today told fans to expect another goal feast as Rovers go in search of a morale-boosting victory at Manchester City tomorrow.

Wednesday night's defeat in a five-goal thriller with Chelsea has increased the pressure on Rovers to get a result from what could be their last ever visit to Maine Road.

But Souness is not about to change the way his side approach games and he is expecting another Titanic battle against Kevin Keegan's kings of entertainment.

"Outside of a handful of clubs, everyone goes for it in this league which is why it's so exciting and I think tomorrow will typify that," said Souness.

"Kevin Keegan has got them playing the kind of football we like to play so I think we are two similar teams who go for it.

"The priority for us is to score goals. We don't try and get a 0-0 anywhere and I think Kevin's teams do exactly the same.

"They don't try and nick things, they try and out-play teams and try and score a lot of goals against whoever they are playing so it should be a cracking game and it could be a 5-4 or a 6-5.

"But that's the way things are going, generally.

"There's stricter refereeing in regard to the fact centre backs and defenders can no longer come straight through the back of a striker.

"I think the goalkeeping rule, which means they haven't got quite as much time on the ball, has made the game far livelier.

"And, as far as I'm concerned, the only league that can challenge ours right now in terms of excitement and entertainment is the Prima League in Spain."

Once again, the spotlight is sure to be on Rovers strikers Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke as they prepare to return to Manchester together for the first time since quitting Old Trafford.

As yet, their much-vaunted partnership has struggled to take off as most pundits predicted it would.

But Souness has repeatedly stressed he is not worried by their recent lack of goals and insists the hostile 'welcome' likely to be awaiting them at Maine Road will only serve to spur them on.

"I think when you are big players, and they are big players, that would motivate you even more," said Souness.

"If you're a big player you want the big stage and you want to be playing against the best teams, in the best stadiums, in front of full houses.

"And I would like to think that would turn Andy and Dwight on. In fact, I know it will.

"It's a fact of football that all strikers go through periods where they don't score and it's just that ours are more highlighted because they are big names.

"I know they will get goals for this club. Their track record shows goals every third game and certainly in the Birmingham game Cole could have had a hat-trick.

"The goals will certainly start to come for them but what we have found out this season is that you can't just rely on your strikers to get the goals and get you out of trouble.

"Tomorrow, they will get their chance because the way City play there should be some openings there for us.

"City like to go for the jugular and they're a really good team going forward. They're not great defensively and we're not great defensively - so it should be a cracking game."

Souness is still ruing the points his side have thrown away from their last two games against Middlesbrough and Chelsea and that has taken the edge of what had been a promising start to the season.

"We'd made a good start and I thought our football had been good but I don't think we played badly in the last two games, either," said the Rovers boss.

"At Middlesbrough we were excellent, in fact, and I've since watched the Chelsea game again on video and I still feel we should have got something from that.

"Their goalkeeper made a save he's not entitled to make from Keith Gillespie late on so I think a draw would have been a fair result all round.

"So in the last two games we've got nothing when I feel we should have taken at least four points.

"But hopefully that will even itself out and there will be games in the future that we win when we don't deserve to.

"Since Wednesday we have just had to work hard on doing the things we didn't do and what we didn't do on Wednesday was very simple - we didn't defend very well.

"The goals we conceded were very, very poor."

With Damien Duff still out injured, Souness must decide whether to stick with the same team which started against Chelsea or he also has the option of bringing back Keith Gillespie on the right.

John Curtis -- who has been out through injury recently -- has also been added to the squad and he may have an outside chance of returning at full-back.
