A COURT case was adjourned after a defence solicitor said he could not read the evidence against his client because a police officer's handwriting was so bad.
Even the prosecutor agreed with the condemnation of the officers calligraphic skills.
"When I read it I thought the officer must have qualified as a doctor before he joined the force," Eddie Harrison told Blackburn magistrates.
Stephen Parker, defending, said he simply could not read the officers handwriting.
"What makes it worse is that the officer has taken all the witness statements and written them down himself," said Mr Parker.
District judge Malcolm Jones apologised to Gary Hindle, 22, of Railway Terrace, Great Harwood, for any inconvenience caused by him having to appear again to answer a charge of handling stolen property.
