A YEAR is a long time in football and John Mullin will be happy with his last 12 months.
The Bury-born former Claret left Turf Moor almost 12 months ago and his arrival at Millmoor co-incided with an almost immediate upturn in fortunes for the Millers.
Last season as Mullin moved across the Pennines Burnley were riding high at the top of Division One while Rotherham were still seeking their first win.
However, Mullin sat on the bench as the Millers recorded their first win 2-0 against Grimsby last October.
Now it is the Millers, fourth in the table having been beaten only once, who are riding high and the Clarets who are seeking to escape the basement.
"When I came to Millmoor I knew what to expect as it was always going to be a big challenge to try and stay in Division One last season," said Mullin.
"However, we have put ourselves in a good position now and one or two teams would willingly swap places with us I'm sure."
