Ex-Clarets manager and former Newcastle United, Spurs and England star Chris Waddle will make his debut for Glapwell in the next couple of weeks.
Waddle has agreed to play for the Northern Counties East League club on an occasional basis, subject to his media commitments.
Club spokesman Jason Harrison said: "Waddle has not yet played for Glapwell this season.
"It's more likely that he will take part in midweek matches. We've only had one so far and Waddle was supposed to have been playing in that, but he was called up by BBC Radio Five Live on the night."
Strike force
BURNLEY'S pair of international strikers enjoyed mixed fortunes as they linked up with their countries last weekend.
Dimitri Papadopoulos was delighted to score the only goal in Greece Under-21s defeat of Spain and relieved that the kick on the nose that forced his substitution was not serious.
But Gareth Taylor did not feature in Wales's excellent 2-0 defeat of Finland in Helsinki. That said, he enjoyed the trip and spoke of the new found confidence in the Welsh camp.
"We looked at Finland's game against the Republic of Ireland and we went there thinking that we should beat them," he said. "We have got off to a good start and now we have to be ready for the big one against Italy in the Millennium Stadium next month."
Matty's chance
CLARETS boss Stan Ternent gave young striker Matty O'Neill a big vote of confidence when he called him up to the bench at Derby last week.
And rather than give him a number in the mid-30s, the Burnley boss has handed him the No 11 shirt that has been worn with distinction by Lennie Johnrose in the past few years.
It now just remains to be seen how long it will be before the 18-year-old actually makes his full debut. With competition up front very strong it may be a while but it is clear he has caught the manager's eye.
Watford weekend
BURNLEY Football Supporters' Club is inviting fans to join them on a "Watford Weekend" at the end of November.
The offer includes two nights bed and breakfast at the St Giles Hotel in Feltham, near Heathrow Airport.
The trip will depart from Turf Moor at 4pm on Friday November 29 and return north on Sunday.
The cost is £75 per person, although there may be a single person supplement. A deposit of £25 is needed when booking, with full payment by October 26. Full details can be obtained by contacting Fraser Eagle on 01254 231100.
