REJUVENATED Burnley can look forward to tomorrow night's televised clash with Millwall as they target a fourth successive victory.

And having come from one down to win for the second League game in a row manager Stan Ternent was qucik to praise his players spirit.

"I thought the lads showed a lot of character to come back," he said having seen them fall behind to a 74th minute strike from Bjarni Gudjonsson.

"There were only about 20 minutes or so left but they showed great resilience having gone behind against the run of play."

It was his two young foreign stars, Frenchman Arthur Gnohere and Greek striker Dimitri Papadopoulos, who headed the goals at Turf Moor that lifted the Clarets up to 20th in the first division and, despite such a poor start to the season, only eight points off third spot.

As with the win at Derby, the victory was achieved with a change of personnel at the interval, Mark McGregor and Robbie Blake making way for Alan Moore and Gareth Taylor. At Derby Glen Little came off the bench to make an impact but it was more a tactical change on Saturday.

Ternent explained: "I felt the balance of the team was not quite right. They had doubled up on Glen Little and they made it very difficult for us.

"With Alan Moore's pace, the pace of Dimi after him and Gareth's aerial ability, it gave us something different."

The introduction of Papadopoulos in place of Ian Moore came midway through the second period and his third goal in two games, added to one for the Greek Under-21s, shows he is a man in form

The Greek hitman will be 21 on Friday but he is already coming of age in Burnley shirt.

"Westy went past Glen and then Dimi took a chance on the cross and scored," said Ternent. "He took it well and he will be a very good player."

Now he has the tough decision of selecting his two front men to face Millwall from the four who have shared the striking duties this season, Papadopoulos, Ian Moore, Blake and Taylor.

Just as he refused to panic after four straight defeats at the start of the season, Ternent is not going to get carried away having seen his side collect six points from the last two games.

"Throughout the season you get setbacks, sometimes and some days," he explained. "It is like a football match where you will be battling for a foothold and sometimes you are under the cosh.

"But there are 46 matches in the season, we have had a poor start and we are playing catch up."

That game will continue with the visit of Millwall to Burnley, a game that will see Clarets fans allowed behind both goals as all away supporters have been banned from the ground.

The club is hoping to boost the attendance for the televised match by cutting prices to just £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

A four game unbeaten run should ensure that the fans who do turn up tomorrow night will do so with both hope and anticipation.

Ternent has admitted he believes the season has started in September and he willhope to maintain the 100 per cent record this month.
