THE number of people out of work in the borough and claiming benefit has shown a slight increase.
Figures for August show the total rose by 16 to 2,028. The statistics comprise 1,502 males and 526 females. The unemployment rate has also risen slightly, from 2.7 per cent to 2.8 per cent.
