BLACKBURN Rovers' two Academy sides maintained their excellent start to the season with two more encouraging results at the weekend.
Ian Miller's Under 17s made it four wins out of four with a thumping 5-1 triumph over Bristol City.
And Rob Kelly's Under 19s are also unbeaten after they drew 1-1 with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Both sides had to come from behind to maintain their impressive starts.
The Under 19s trailed after a suspect penalty was awarded for a handball against Ian Black and, though Kieron Renton saved the spot-kick, a Wolves player gobbled up the rebound.
However, Rovers dug deep and deservedly equalised after a sweeping four man move unlocked the Wolves defence.
Renton collected the ball from a corner before releasing Jerome Watt who in turn found Jemal Johnson and, from the striker's pull back, centre back Alex Bruce arrived on cue to slot home a cool right-foot finish.
"It was a fantastic goal and we then had chances to win it," said Kelly.
"It was a test of character for the lads because they went a goal down but they came through it with great credit."
The Under 17s also showed similar defiance after going behind early on.
But goals from Peter Corvino (2), Andy Reid, Paul Weaver and Clark Walsh saw them turn things around in spectacular style to stretch their 100 per cent record to a fourth weekend.
