TWO people were being quizzed by detectives today after the discovery of a man's body.
The body of James Bowman, 44, was found on moorland above the village of Cornholme, near Todmorden.
Police were called to the gruesome find after a passing hill walker saw the body at 12.41pm on Sunday.
Detective Superintendent Allan Doherty said they know very little about Mr Bowman.
At a news conference in Halifax, Mr Doherty said he believed Mr Bowman may have been camping at the spot where his body was discovered.
This is near a rock formation known as Back Wood.
"We believe him to have only been in the Todmorden area for a few weeks," said Mr Doherty.
Although Mr Bowman is known to have lived in the Workington area police think he may have been from Liverpool.
Mr Doherty said officers would be searching houses in the Blackpool and Preston areas.
Police said two local people, a 44-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, were arrested on Sunday.
Magistrates have given police extra time to continue to hold a 44-year-old local woman and a 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the death.
Two 23-year-old men from Lancashire are also being questioned.
