THE FA today found Burnley manager Stan Ternent guilty of improper conduct and abusive language.
The charge arose after comments Ternent made about match referee Barry Knight during the Burnley v Wolves Division One fixture on March 30, 2002.
The game ended 3-2 to Wolves, but Burnley had a Gareth Taylor header disallowed and Ternent claimed Wolves' first goal was offside.
Ternent received a £2,500 fine, and a two match touchline ban, commencing 7th October.
He was also warned to his future conduct and reprimanded.
