THE Clarets have a fearsome foursome of strikers straining at the leash ahead of tonight's televised clash with Millwall at Turf Moor.
Manager Stan Ternent's key decision will be which pair out of Robbie Blake, Ian Moore, Dimitri Papadopoulos and Gareth Taylor should lead the line.
And with the "Padiham Predator" Andy Payton also waiting in the wings, Ternent's assistant Sam Ellis admitted: "Let's hope Millwall have got five players to worry about."
Burnley's current four game unbeaten run began with Papadopoulos and Taylor in the starting line-up but, having then gone away on international duty, the last three games have seen Blake and Moore up front.
"I don't think it is a dilemma for the manager," said Ellis. "I think it is seen as a luxury. We have got five good strikers and it is nice to have a choice to make.
"We have a nice blend and we have got different options and whichever two or three players we put out we think we will cause them problems."
Taylor and Moore, the club's top scorers last season, have both still to open their accounts this time around and it is young Greek striker Papadopoulos who is the man in form.
His hot streak started with the winner for Greece Under-21s against Spain earlier this month and he has followed up with a brace against Blackpool a week ago and then the winner against Stoke on Saturday, both times after coming off the bench.
Ternent has admitted it will be tough to leave him out but he is also aware that it is his job to make that type of decision.
Ellis added: "We are not surprised by how Dimi has done because we know he is a good player and a goalscorer. He has not had the chance to play on a regular basis and we only think he can get better."
Ternent's decision may be made simpler if Blake fails to fully shake off the virus that saw him replaced at the interval on Saturday although Ellis said: "He trained okay on Monday."
It is Payton, still the most prolific scorer at the club, who has missed out this season with just one appearance from the bench in the home defeat by Sheffield United. In fact he did not start a single League match for the Clarets all last season.
One decision that Ternent looks certain to make is a first team recall for Alan Moore, an impressive second half substitute against the Potters.
Ellis explained: "Sometimes the goalscorers grab the headlines and overshadow the other lads but Alan Moore came on and played very, very well."
A start for Moore will see Lee Briscoe drop back to left back and Mark McGregor take a place on the bench.
Steve Davis is still not quite ready but midfielder Paul Weller is "improving" after his groin strain according to Ellis.
Ellis was in charge of the pre-match press conference having done so before the League wins against both Derby County and Stoke City.
"Let's hope that the sequence carries on tonight," he smiled.
